Apple Card overcharging for purchases: Is it a common issue?

Today I cancelled my Apple Credit. I bought a book for $7.99 from Books using my apple credit card. An amount that was 4 times greater than the purchase price. While I didn’t give the Goldman Sachs adequate time to find out what happened, I decided that because this overcharge has happened before I wasn’t going to let it happen again.

anyone else have a different amount flash on the screen than the item that was purchased?
