iPhone 16 Pro Max can't play music on usb to aux
I got a new iPhone, moved everything over from android and I soon realized that playing music in the car does not work. I use the USB C to 3.5 mm Jack converter I used with my Galaxy S21 device. Here are a few things to note and some things I've tried:
- Tried restarting
- Tried removing and plugging in cable again
- Tried plugging in upside down (In some cases this has helped others)
- Tried turning off Bluetooth
- Tried setting device up as headphones and as other device
- Tried updating to newest iOS (18.5)
- Bought a song on Apple Music and tried playing music there instead of Spotify, but no success. When I play music through Apple Music I also get the error code: 1852797029
- Vocal shortcuts are not set up (I assumed that this is equivalent to disabling them)
- Same cable works with my previous phone and also with an iPhone 12 device (but with a lightning connector)
- When I got my phone I did delete Apple Music as it seemed unnecessary at first, I had to download it later as I read it might fix my issues
- When I start the music with the cable inserted it starts playing for a really short time without sound and then pauses immediately on Spotify. Same behaviour on Apple Music but I get the error along the pause.
- This is a brand new device therefore the connector is not dirty. Charging works flawlessly too.
Any further tips? I've seen many similar threads but none of them seem to solve my issue and they are also from a while back, like iPhone 13 era. This was supposed to be my return to iPhone after 7 years, please help me not regret it.
