Issues with USB-C port after updating to iPadOS 18.5
USB-C port still charges, transfers data (external HD) and even works with a Ethernet adapter. But, whenever I try to plug any device related to music (headphones and audio interfaces) it doesn’t work. However those devices work well with my friend’s iPad Air 13 M2 (so the problem might not be the cables, dongles and devices).
I’m not entirely sure, cause I’m not using my iPad for music everyday of the week, but I think all this happened after updating to iPadOS 18.5. Is it a coincidence (maybe a software issue)? Or my USB-C port got damaged? Is it possible that a damaged USB-C does everything fine except audio?
I’ve done everything at this point (cleaning the port, restarting and restoring the thing and nothing helps).
My unit is a little bit old (iPad pro 4th gen) but it doesn’t get nearly the usage that my iPhone 12 gets and that dirty and corroded lighting port is able to recognize headphones and audio interfaces without problems.
