How do I change birth date in my child's Apple Account?

Dear Apple Support,

I hope this message finds you well.

I recently created an Apple ID for my child, but I mistakenly entered the wrong date of birth during the setup process. I would like to request a correction to reflect the accurate birth date.

Please let me know the steps I need to follow or any documents you require to verify the correct information.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards,

Samar

Hello Samar

Apple has a support document called Update the birth date associated with your Apple Account - Apple Support which has the information you need. Note that it says that to change a date of birth for a child (under 13 in most territories) the child's account must be part of a family sharing group.

It says To change a birth date to any age below 13*, the account must be a member of a Family Sharing group, and the family organizer must approve the change. Follow the steps to change a birth date on the web.

The support document also makes the suggestion of creating a new account (with the correct date of birth!) for the child. See: create a new Apple Account for a child.
