Cannot add google account

I recently purchased an iPhone 15 Pro, which is running iOS 17.4.1

I am unable to add my Google, Yahoo or AoL accounts on the Mail app.

I have tried moving accounts from my Android phone. They move successfully but are not functional and request for re-entering password. However, when I click on re-enter password, nothing happens. I tried deleting the accounts. However, when I try to add an account (Google) post deletion, nothing happens. The screen remains as it is. I tried adding my Google account manually as well, however even that is not working.

I factory-reset the phone and tried moving nothing from my Android phone and setting up the iPhone with Vanilla settings. When I tried to add an account on Mail, again I faced the same issue. Absolutely nothing happens when I click on Google when adding an account.

I have gone through various posts, and it seems like this issue is happening since the latest iOS 17.4 update.

Are there any workarounds? When can a fix be expected?

It's bug in Apple software 17.4.1 for some users. I'm also facing this issue for iPhone 13. No resolution provided till now

A fix should never be expected if something isn’t broken. Are you following these instructions to add an account→Add an email account to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If the account you are adding has 2 factor authentication enabled you may need an app-specific password to add it to the Apple Mail app. You can avoid this by using the provider’s mail app rather than the Apple app. Google, Yahoo and AOL all have mail apps that integrate with the provider’s 2 factor authentication feature.

Thanks for the response but I don't think you really need to create application specific password as 2 Factor Authentication doesn't seem to be an issue for me, I solved this issue now, by following steps:

1. Turning off Autofill and Passkeys.
2. Reinstalling Apple mail app.
3. Rebooting the device.
4. Now, I was successfully able to add connect my google account as internet account (unlike previously where despite clicking Google, Yahoo and AOL the screen remained as it is on iPhone and showed Authentication failed on MacBook).
5. Turned on Autofill and Passkeys later.

Worked for both my MacBook Pro and iPhone 14 Pro.
